WESTWARD EXPANSION

In the years between 1763 and 1890, what began as thirteen British colonies clinging to the eastern seaboard of North America expanded into a sprawling independent nation that stretched 3,000 miles from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean. The story of the westward expansion of the United States is at once a romantic saga of human accomplishment and a tragic account of human cruelty. The steady march of American settlement into the West created national heroes and helped define the national character. Mountain men, miners, explorers, pioneers, cowboys, and outlaws lived such colorful and independent lives that their exploits continue to be celebrated in fiction and in film into the twentieth-first century. Many historians maintain that the process of settling the West—carving farms and communities out of the wilderness, surmounting tremendous odds to move whole families across the sprawling continent—made this nation's inhabitants more resourceful, independent, and rugged than their European forebears. In the romantic version of the settling of the West, stalwart pioneers carved their chosen land from a howling wilderness, building the most powerful nation in the world in the process.
However, from the perspective of the Native Americans who inhabited North America for thousands of years prior to white settlement, the westward expansion of the United States looks decidedly unromantic. Though there were wide variations among American Indian cultures, they shared a bond with the natural world and a sense that land could be used but not owned. The Indians were ill-prepared—culturally and biologically—to deal with the impact that Europeans would have on their lives. Diseases carried to the continent by Europeans took a terrible toll on Indian populations even before colonial British settlers began encroaching on Indian lands. As the colonies freed themselves from British rule and settlers pressed farther west, clashes with the Native Americans occurred more frequently. Indians were depicted as hostile and ignorant savages and whites did not hesitate to take Indian land and kill Native Americans who resisted. By the 1830s it had become official government policy to drive the Indians from land desired by white settlers. For more than a century, Americans waged relentless war on Indian populations, killing men, women, and children in their quest to rid themselves of what they called "the Indian menace." By the end of the nineteenth century, Native Americans who had survived the Indian Wars were no longer free to roam the land but were confined to reservations. To the native inhabitants of the continent, westward expansion was an utter disaster.

THE BIG BANG THEORY!!!!

The big bang theory is an American sitcom created by chuck and bill prady, both of whom serve as executive producers on the show, along with lee, who is also one of the head writers. It premiered on CBS on September 24, 2007.Set in Pasedena, CA, the show is centered around five characters: two roommate geniuses, experimental physicist Leonard and theoretical physicist Sheldon Cooper; their neighbor across the hall Penny, an attractive blonde waitress and aspiring actress; and Leonard's and Sheldon's equally geeky and socially awkward co-workers and friends Howard, an Aerospace engineer and a non-PhD, and Raj, a particle. FASHION OF 2011

WHETHER ITS THE 18TH CENTURY OR THE 21ST FASHION IS ALWAYS THE HOTTEST GOSSIP AROUND THE TOWN.FLOWING GOWNS,SILK FROCKS,SAFFON DRESSES ARE THE DESIRE OF MANY.LIGHT COLORS LIKE SKIN,PEACH,WHITE ARE THE PERFECT COLOURS FOR GOWNS.WHEREAS SOME DARK COLOURS LIKE PURPLE,RED,GREEN LIKE VIBRANT COLORS ARE BOUND TO CATCH ONES EYE AND ENHANCE ONES COMPLEXION.
Sometimes we choose the colors of the clothes intuitively. Someone would not want to put on the red, and someone does not like black and other cloudy colors. However, constantly avoiding bright colors, you are depriving yourself of the opportunity to lift the mood, make your life a little happier. Nobody said that it is necessary to shock others with garish attire, quite the same detail that will please you all day. For example, a yellow scarf will facilitate the flow of new ideas, and red will add vigor. Of course it is important that this accessory fits into the concept of your image.so dress according to your need and choice and do the magic!!!!!!!

math research

Math research is the worst thing ever especially if you are a computer illterate. In math research we have to work on computers instead of practicing mathematical problems. For the people who dont know alot about computers this task is perplexing and the students are lost therefore do not get high scores. This seems really unfair and unjust.the respected teachers should encourage and teach the students how to work on a computer rather than leaving them to work individually.

Fashion trends of 1961s

The popularity of the Beatles brought the international spotlight to England and many adopted the Mod style of mop hair and Edwardian cut jackets, while the Rolling Stones presented an edgier street chic. Londoner Mary Quant had opened her boutique Bazaar in the 50s, and started designing clothing in the 60s when she couldn’t find what she wanted to appeal to the young. She is credited with creating the miniskirt, which was an instant hit with girls who didn’t want to dress like their mothers.
The flapper dress of the 20s is somewhat similar to the 60s mini. Both garments skimmed the body, without revealing the underlying curves, and both were youthful fashions that would be adopted by older women. But the flapper wanted a boyish figure and male privileges, while the 60s girl was rejecting the conformity of her corset-clad mother.  The simplicity of the mini dress was in direct contrast to the constructed dresses, body shaping underwear and spike heels of the 50s.
